Religious Belief in Yoruba Culture          The Yoruba people reside in  Nigeria, West Africa.   The name Yoruba appears to have been applied by neighbors to the kingdom of Oyo and adopted by missionaries in the mid nineteenth century to describe a wider language sharing family of people.                                                                            RELIGION                Religion is an important aspect of life as it shapes one's worldview-an encompassing picture of reality based on a set of shared assumptions about how the world works-belief, tradition and ultimately behavior. The study of religion broadens my knowledge on religious beliefs and worldview on supernatural beings and so on. According to Adherents-an independent non religiously affiliated organization that monitors the number and size of the world's religions- there are 4000+ religions in the world.                                                ...
